Every now and then, I think about all the beads I've made, and what they grew up to be! I loved these beads when I made them, and I really love what Jo did with them. And I kind of miss them now they're gone!
Awwww, it must be like seeing your babies grow up and fly the nest! But at least you get to keep tabs on them in Jo's work! Unlike real grown up babies of course....
Yeah, real grown up babies are harder to keep an eye on! I'm hoping to feature lots of my ex-babies on this blog! Thanks so much for the link, Tina - I'm off to check your blog out now!My little man, Ryver's looking very grown up these days!
Yeah, Izzy, I feel like that with some of my 'special' pieces, but it's a lovely feeling when you see someone wearing them unexpectedly when they didn't know you were going to be seeing them iykwim. I must also mention that the collaboration betweeen you and Jo is a match made in heaven - such beautiful pieces.
Thank you! A match made in Gemheaven, LOL! I think that Jo and I started at about the same time, and we've kind of grown up together - that said, I haven't seen anything made with my beads that I haven't liked!! Spoken like a true parent, haha!
I often look at Jo's website not only to drool over her jewellery (must find "nicer" word than drool) but also to see what Izzy beads I've missed out on (trust me, plenty!)
Izzy, I also like looking at your bead gallery. It's like a visual record of an artist's creative journey. Lovely stuff!
Thank you, Mary! I keep meaning to get my Gallery onto Flikr - I have to prune it every now and then to keep within the image limit for the site - are there ever enough hours in the day??
I love beads, I'm a beadaholic. I really love your beads, the way they feel, the colours and I've only got one set, sadly I'm getting a bit possessive over them, they're MINE!!!
Jo's jewellery is just gorgeous, I love her bracelets, its the perfect partnership.
LOL - I bought some faceted citrines a couple of weeks ago - and they're not going anywhere!! I keep looking at them - they're too nice to make into anything, even! I keep thinking of all the things they won't be if I make them into something!! And that is why I'll never be a jewellery designer!
And what an adventure it has been! I first discovered lampwork beads five years ago, and they have taken over my life, and brought me many new and wonderful friends - you know who you are!! So this blog is to celebrate the beads, and the glass, and the jewellery made from the beads. Here you will find my new frit blends, and the beads made with them. I hope you enjoy it!
