Asymmetry

I find it really difficult not to have an even number of things, or a repeating pattern - so this is a bit of a change for me.It's a simple JPL bracelet with little silver nuggets and a silvered glass focal.

I know exactly what you mean Izzy! I'm a bit like that. However, your bracelet looks beautiful and I love the bead!!

Beautiful bracelet! I can't do "asymmetric" either in jewellery or anything else. The asymmetric skirt/dress thing freaked me out! Strange because I love things which aren't quite normal.

I'm so glad it's not just me!!
I think I'm going to make an effort this week to deliberately make something else which is asymmetric, or unmatched in some way - want to play??

Lovely bracelet Izzy. I'm so envious of your JPL chain, I'm hoping to 'crack' it sometime soon.

I have fear of asymmetric stuff too, but I even surprised myself and my friend today when I suggested a way to do a necklace she wanted to have a go at, and it was asymmetric!!

Thanks, Ali! I tried for ages to get my head around JPL - the online diagrams are really not clear. Then one day it just clicked - and it's not hard at all! All that over-under stuff is just confusing - get the first 3 rings in, then make a quarter turn, place the next ring just like the last, make a quarter turn and keep doing it! Just keep placing the rings in the same direction, - job done!

I think it must be something to do with how our brains are wired! I don't know of many people who are comfortable with asymmetry, but the results are worth the efforts, as this bracelet shows, it's so stylish!

I'm laughing at your post! Had a commission yesterday, she wanted it all mismatched and upside down.............I played and played then threw it on the floor, tried again, abandoned it, will try again tomorrow........I'm a lady who has her knicker drawer all neatly arranged, I can't do asymmetric!!!

Beautiful bracelet by the way!!!
