Holiday
Well, a little holiday from making orders!I love making earrings, and these ones were fun. Some lampwork discs with bali silver, that I call Midnight in Moscow because they remind me of onion dome buildings, and a pair of twist cut flourite beads that are really well matched - they were the only two in the strand that were perfectly matched for colour, so they had to be earrings really.
Tomorrow I'm going to see Jean Michel Jarre in concert - a blast from my past! Woohoo - old hippy alert!

Ooooooo, Jean Michel Jarre, I used to love him, one of the newspapers recently had a giveaway of Oxygen (ours is on vinyl, do you remember vinyl?), hadn't heard it for years...................bought back loads and loads of memories!
I love earrings, think I'm a bit of a "Pat Butcher" girl and yours are lovely!

Vinyl?? I have boxes and boxes of LPs under the stairs - i can't bring myself to get rid of them, despite having nothing to play them on!!
This year is the 30th anniversary of the Oxygene album, hence the tour - boy, how old does that make me feel???
Sadly mine are all in loft and we do have a record player (omg, when did you last here that?), but they take up so much space! All my David Bowie are on vinyl.....oh, you've got me thinking about them all now, do you remember the 12inch singles?.....
I remember the Diamond Dogs gatefold cover with him naked on it! oooooer, missus!
I've just found a site called Jango.com -it's full of great music - I'm listening to the Turtles! LOL!
Lovely earrings, both pairs, dont make me choose my fave! Now this is sad, but I still have the first single I ever aquired - The Turtles! Happy Together. My dad bought it for me in Spillers on our way home from the Infirmary where he'd had to take me after I broke a bone in my foot (French skipping in junior school), cos I'd been brave and not cried! Ahhhh!!!
Awwww!! Isn't it amazing how you can go straight back in time?? That jangly guitar intro in Pictures of Matchstick Men - The Rainbow Cafe, school lunch time! Scott McKenzie's San Francisco. Simon and Garfunkel's America - a huge crush on Bob the Busker in the Edgeware Road underpass!
Not a fan here lol so can't join in the thread but I love concerts - any concerts I just love the buzz - BUT the last one I went to was Robbie Williams @ Knebworth - fantastic concert but I threw up when we reached our hotel from fright - trying to get out of that field was the scariest thing!! Sorry off on a tangent!
Beautiful earrings :)
Hey, Jo!! So which piece of music takes you right back there?? And where is right back there?
As if I'm going to tell you my age on here missus especially as you know it already!
Ok piece of music - thats takes me back hmmm Big Bopper Chantilly Lace cos my Dad used to sing it to us!! Moving on a few years Level 42 - fantastic concerts - love the bass sound - takes me back to my teenage years - or Just my Imagination motiwn classic - college bus!
OK everyone has fallen asleep now lol
LOL! I am loving this thread!
Awwww, Level 42, used to see them before they woz famous and just lads who played the rough gigs at Slough....Hmmmmm....Starchild.......
Earth, wind and fire........Saturday nite......
Anyone remember going to disco with the whistle and Gary's Gang?
I'm loving this thread too Izzy, think you've started something here!

I'm back - I'm shattered - it was fab! Very different to the big stadium shows - sort of Unplugged, apart from the masses of electronic gear!
What I don't understand is why he still looks so young?? He is one seriously good-looking man!
Hurrah you are back :)
Glad you enjoyed Izzy! It's always a risk with the old 'uns how they're going to be, but very often they just get better. I've seen Van Morrison more times than I can count over the years, and he is one of the "improved" ones, much mellower, less likely to stomp off in a strop after half an hour (I was most put out!). Talking of Jango (it's brilliant), have you tried Musicovery.com? You can just let it wander where it wants to go, or lock it into one type of music, or one decade. I lock it into 70's rock and I'm a happy bunny all day!
Oooh, thanks for that, Nia! Check out his blog on my faves list!
Lovely earrings, Izzy.
Glad you had a good time at the concert. Me and hubby went to see him at the Docklands, fantastic concert, but was mega frightening getting out and it was pouring down. I've had a bit of a trip down memory lane today, actually. Youngest son (11) loves to get my old 45 boxes down and play a few tunes. Today we've had The Boomtown Rats, Blondie, Donna Summer, The Buggles and The Village People - what a mix!!
Yeah, I saw him at Wembley many moons ago - and he still looks exactly the same!
Woohoo, the Buggles!! My daughter used to love them when she was about 3!
